Alyeska Resort Getaway

Charise and Rosanne surprised Scott and I with a weekend getaway to Alyeska Resort which included two day ski passes and one night in the hotel. Then they gave us a Visa gift card and told us that we had reservations for Seven Glaciers at 7:30pm Friday night. Charise also watched Frances for us while we were gone. It was our first time ever staying the night away from her and it was actually easier than I thought it would be, especially knowing she was in such good hands.

We left Friday morning after breakfast and started our adventure with a gas station lunch at the base of the mountain to avoid the crowds in the cafeteria on the slopes.

I went skiing and Scott snowboarded. He is going to let me try to teach him to ski next year and I might try snowboarding again.

After skiing we checked into our hotel and took a dip in the salt water pool and hot tub. It was so refreshing!

The restaurant is on top of the mountain and you have to take the tram to get to it. We loaded on with a bunch of skiiers getting their last night ride of the year in. Everything was AMAZING! The dinner entrees ranged from $35-$85 so it's one of those restaurants you don't get to go to very often in a lifetime.

Scott got a poached pear salad before his entree. We laughed at how much food came out on our plates but we definitely got full. Everything tasted amazing, our food looked like art, and the service was wonderful!

Here is a pic of the hotel and our room. We had a view of the mountain behind us. It was so nice we even had slippers and robes that we got to use.

We checked out the next morning after breakfast at the hotel (also included) and went to the temple to do sealings, met up with friends for lunch at Chiles, and did some quick shopping. It was a weekend we will never forget and it reminded us that we need to do fun things together every once in a while. Thanks to Charise and Rosanne for their generous gift!!!
