It's been one whole year since we were able to visit my family in Vancouver!
Frances did pretty well on the airplane until playing peek-a-boo with the man behind us got old to him and I wanted my seat back. Our computer wasn't playing any of the movies I brought so we rented a digi-player which didn't have anything great on it. Her diaper was too full and she peed on my about 30 minutes before landing. Luckily, Kristin was in our row with us and she helped out a lot. Why is it so hard to travel with children???

We had a mini-family reunion at Battle Ground Lake with some cousins and a few aunts.

Keenan and Oliver were meditating in the front yard. When do we learn to be aware of what other people think???

The 4th of July
We had some of our own fireworks and watched the whole sky light up all night long in every direction. It was way better than the usual Fort Vancouver event and it included clean bathrooms, no crowds, kitchen full of food, no drive home!

I tried to cover Francie's ears when we were lighting the big fireworks... they are SO LOUD!

Even with all the noisy fireworks, Frances fell asleep in my lap

Berry picking

After a few hours of strawberry and raspberry picking, Frances was covered in dirt and berries
My good friend Crystal and her daughter Raquel who is almost a year older than Francie came up from Wyoming to spend some time with us. We went to the fish hatchery up the Gorge, got some ice cream and water, went to a park in Hood River, and then headed back to Vancouver to visit a craft store and go home. It was SO GREAT to see them and spend the day together!

It was so fun to see you guys! Give Frances a hug from her cousins and we'll see you in November. :)
PS We finally started using earplugs during fireworks, and it worked like a charm: all the fun visuals, none of the scary sound effects!
